About the RQMEM

Objectives

Stimulate research and development in the advanced materials field and promote to research groups of Québec and Canada the new and emerging methods of analysis.

Provide and make available the electron microscopy tools necessary for scientific and technological advancement in the relevant academic and industrial sectors in Quebec and Canada.

Ensure training for highly qualified professionals in electron microscopy techniques.

Mission

RQMEM's mission is to provide research scientists, particularly those in the field of material science, with access to state-of-the-art microscopy equipment and technical expertise in order to advance knowledge and train highly qualified personnel. The RQMEM coordinates the equipment associated with the Network and ensures that members can use it to carry out research and innovation activities.

Management

The management structure includes the board of directors, the executive committee, the scientific director, the poles' directors and the members.

Executive committee

The Executive Committee is composed of the pole directors and the coordinator, who serve as a guest. The committee is chaired by the scientific director and is responsible for ensuring the Network's smooth operatino and strategic development. It supports day-to-day management and also oversees financial planning, the use and development of equipment, scientific outreach, training activities, communications with users, and all other initiatives aimed at improving the Network.

The board of directors is composed of the vice-rectors for research from the participating universities and an external representative (from the industry or the government).
